PTRC Co-sponsors The First International Symposium

"Environment· Heritage· Urban Planning"

Hangzhou, China  - 9-10 November, 2013

The first internationalsymposium on "Environment ·Heritage ·Urban planning " will be held on9-10 November, 2013 in Zhejiang, Hangzhou. This symposium is co-sponsored byPTRC and Zhejiang University of Industry and Commerce, and is undertaken by the College of Tourism and City Management and co-organized by the magazine Planner.

It will focus on Chinese andinternational research achievements in the field of urban and rural planning,and in particular on the protection of the urban ecological environment and theconservation of historical heritage.

In-depth discussions will takeplace to promote the development of regional planning, urban planning anddesign, and the protection of urban ecological environment and related areas inorder to explore the new models of urbanization with Chinese characteristics.

The key themes of theConference include (but are not limited to):

1. Regional economicintegration and urban -rural integration

2. The protection of theecological environment and management of land resources

3. The conservation of thehistorical heritage and planning of cultural cities
