Book for Better Bus Areas and BSOG Reform Conference, 25th April 2013, Birmingham

The Department for Transport (DfT) announced that Sheffield is set to be a trail-blazer of the Better Bus Areas project and invited local authorities to submit their applications to the fund by 21st June to become one of the Better Bus Areas.

Norman Baker, Parliamentary under Secretary for the Department for Transport will give a speech about the proposals at the Better Bus Area and BSOG Reform Conference on 25th April in Birmingham. The Conference will be chaired by Professor Peter Mackie of the Institute of Transport Studies, University of Leeds.

The Conference offers delegates an opportunity to discuss innovative ideas for bid proposal packages and to put questions to Norman Baker. This will also be an excellent opportunity to learn about the technical and strategic details of the Sheffield Better Bus Areas bid which helped the city to secure £18.3 million of funding.

The Conference programme is now available on our website. PTRC is pleased to offer special rates for Local Authorities, members of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and the Transport Planning Society (TPS).
